Priority 2

2025-2026

Refine, evaluate, and enhance our standards aligned curriculum documents and instructional strategies to ensure that resources are research-based, rigorous, and guarantee informed decision making to prepare students who are college, career, military and workforce ready.

Strategic Priority Two – Aligned Curriculum

Importance
The practice of aligning learning to standards helps to ensure that a higher level of learning is attained. This alignment also serves as a guide; moving students, teachers, and leaders in the same direction. A curriculum that is aligned to standards is a curriculum that ensures that students have the opportunity to access the content and skills outlined in those standards.

Action Steps

  • Dedicated time on professional development days for curriculum work at the district level, school level, content level and individual teacher level.
  • Develop and Implement PD action plan to support the implementation of Marzano’s Critical Concepts through Proficiency Scales for all staff.
  • Design and Implement Text Selection for Standards-Based Instruction at the elementary.
  • Reteach and Implement Assessment Literacy Checklist for unit assessments.
  • Added plan time K-12 without the loss of instructional time.
